Mental health: Next steps in learning...
If you have an interest in mental health and caring for patients who suffer from psychiatric illness, then consider joining the College of Mental Health Pharmacy (CMHP). It’s an opportunity to network with colleagues with similar interests, share expert resources, receive training, and keep up-to-date.
This third edition of the Introduction to Mental Health and Therapeutics Workbook, developed by the Midlands Mental Health Clinical Pharmacists Network, is designed as an information and training resource to supplement a placement in a mental health setting for trainee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals. The workbook encompasses a broad range of foundational and specialist topics relevant to contemporary mental health service delivery, to underpin safe, effective, and evidence-based practice.
In collaboration with RPS, CPPE have also written several medicines optimisation briefings, including one on schizophrenia, dementia and depression.
BMJ Learning has a range of e-learning around mental health. Click on the ‘Browse Courses' tab then select ‘Mental health’. The MHRA also has a series of e-learning modules on psychiatry drugs including antipsychotic drugs, SSRIs and benzodiazepines.
